Emergency dental

We understand that accidents happen and often at the most inconvenient times.

What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?

  • If your tooth has been completely knocked out, place it in milk. Avoid scrubbing the root and do not place it in tap water.
  • Don’t worry if there is dirt on the tooth.
  • You can even put the tooth under your tongue to keep it safe.
  • Call your dentist as soon as possible.

What should I do if my tooth is pushed out of position?

  • Gently reposition the tooth to its natural alignment using your finger. Don’t force it into place and avoid playing with it.
  • Lightly clench your teeth to hold the tooth in place while you wait for treatment.
  • Call your dentist as soon as possible.

What should I do with a chipped or fractured tooth?

  • If possible keep the tooth fragment.
  • Call your dentist as soon as possible.

What should I do if the tissue of my mouth is injured?

  • Call your dentist as soon as possible.
  • If you are unable to see a dentist then seek medical advice immediately.

Our surgery also offers sedation dentistry to put our patients at ease while we undertake the repair work.
